FAQ. How many Questions can I miss on the CompTIA Security+ exam and still pass?

Number of Questions: 90 max

Passing Score: 750 (on a scale of 100-900)

Simple math:

If the exam consist of 90 questions. The highest grade you can obtain is 900. You need to get 750 out of 900 to pass, that’s about 80%. So you can answer 20% of the exam questions wrong and still pass.

20% of 90 is 18.

So this means you can have 18 wrong answer on the exam and still pass. assuming you get the maximum number of questions “90” and all the question have the same scoring.
